WHAT IS AN OWNER-OPERATOR WORK PERMIT?

Owner-Operator Work Permit with a path to permanent residency for candidates eligible to be a self-employed in Canada:

As any other country, Canada is interested in attracting talented people to develop the country’s economy and it does so by offering work visas and a range of immigration programs. The visas and programs are targeted at those from overseas who are interested in relocating to Canada and have the ability to support themselves through self-employment, working as a contractor or freelancer, or establishing a business in Canada.

The Owner-Operator Work Permit route is one of the best paths to permanent residency for eligible candidates. It starts with a work visa for 3 years, with the right to permanent residency after one year of work in Canada, and involves the following steps:

Register as a self-employed.
Create a job for yourself (get job contracts for services you can provide for Canadian companies) and apply for the LMIA.
Get a work permit and start working for Canadian companies as a contractor.
Apply for PR through Express Entry or Provincial Programs and become a permanent resident of Canada.

The process of obtaining permanent residency in Canada through the Owner-Operator Work Permit has two steps.

Obtaining LMIA and Work Permit

This includes matching you with the Canadian market, getting job contracts (it's a major requirement in most cases), applying for LMIA, and then for Work Visa.
Our professional services for the Owner-Operator Work Permit vary from $12,000 to $18,000 (depending on your family composition, country of origin, province of preference, and other factors).
The required period of time between signing the agreement with us and obtaining a work visa is about 8 months altogether.

Application for Permanent Residency

Candidates can apply for PR after working in Canada for one year, and the application processing time is about one year. This means there will be approximately two years between you coming to Canada as a self-employed worker and you becoming a permanent resident.
